It's been a while

It's been quite some time since we wrote a blog. It's not that nothing has happened a lot has happened, it's just that time gets away from us all too quickly.

Annika is pretty much working full time now, so has to squeeze in time to update the web page and Facebook site - so sorry if you are anxious to see photos from the WOW gatherings and the latest fabrics available - they do eventually get published. Fay in the meantime is once again an empty-nester and is very excited about planning her renovations including the establishment of her wet studio and her new shop/workshop space, and also getting her lounge room back.

Fay is also very busy planning the upcoming Harrietville retreat. A couple of places have become available for this years retreat - 28th May - 2nd June - if you would like to attend or know of someone that would like to attend please let Fay know asap. All the retreat information has been sent out to participants along with the deadlines for payments and allergy notifications.

For those with outstanding payments, Fay will be contacting you over the next two weeks via email/phone to finalise those payments. These need to be made by 30th April.

I hope you have all let Fay know whether or not you have any specific medical Dietary requirements (not likes or dislikes) – this information is required by Friday the 3rd of May.

Since December we've already had one workshop and 4 Sit n Sews. The workshop was the very popular Double Wedding Ring Quilt. We saw a wonderful variety of fabrics being used and have since seen one or two already finished.

The WOW Sit n Sews have been very popular, with a wonderful group of ladies attending every month. We've seen so many beautiful quilts in show and tell. It's great to see some UFO'S being finished, as they really inspire us to dig into our cupboards to see what's hiding inside. It's also been wonderful to see Grunge fabric being used throughout the quilts that the ladies have been making.

Fay has also been inspired by the show and tell at WOW and has been thinking and planning about what we could create with our Grunge fabrics that we've been collecting in Grunge club. She has been noticing an increasing interest in Modern Quilts, which has been the inspiration behind her new workshops beginning in the second half of this year called - MODern SQUAD. These workshops will be cover a series of modern quilt blocks using the Grunge Fabrics many of the ladies have been collecting over the past year. You do not have to be a member of the Grunge Club to participate in the workshops however there is a bonus to members - If you are a member at the time of the workshop you will receive a discount.

Grunge Club provides you with a wonderful array of Grunge fabrics. Grunge club members can choose to purchase cuts starting from $22 for 25cm width of fabric. Other members opt for 30cm width of fabric, 1/2m width of fabric, upwards or even fat quarters. Members do not need to be part of WOW. If you would like to join and prefer to have them posted to you every month that is also possible $3.50 postage will get you your 25cm widths. You do not need to go back and purchase what has already been sent out - you can start from next month and if there are any additional colours you wish to purchase from Fay's stock just ask. For Fay's full range of Grunge Fabric have a look here.

We hope to publish the WOW dates for the second half of this year shortly along with dates for upcoming workshops, in the meantime keep on sewing. We look forward to seeing all the Harrietville ladies shortly, and we hope to see many of the rest of you at the next WOW Sit n Sew on May Friday the 17th.
