The realisation of how fast the year is flying really hits once that countdown towards Christmas begins, whether you celebrate or not. It hits even harder once you start work !! After six years or so out of the workforce I have taken that plunge back in to full time work (hopefully it's only temporary), either way I will still be providing support to Fay, but will not be at the next two WOW gatherings. I'm so disappointed to be missing the Christmas one - it is always such a great day with lots and lots of yummy food on offer (I'll be putting my order in for a doggy bag).
If you are coming along to the Christmas Gathering, and haven't done so yet, please contact Fay and let her know what you will be contributing in the way of food.
Do not forget to get your Dear Jane's organised if you are participating. If you are a first timer - you need to organise 3 gifts (homemade, purchased, regifted, baked) no set value - it's the thought that counts. On the day you will draw a name out of a "hat" - your job will then be to secretly place that gift at your ladies table, without her catching you. You will have most of the day to do this, so watch for when she leaves to get a cuppa or chat to somebody, or ask someone else to do it on your behalf.
The Harrietville Retreat for 2019 is now full up. Fay will still take names for the waiting list, just in case someone pulls out.
As a reminder to those who are attending. The Dress up theme is Pirates, the Challenge theme is Large Florals, the Fabric Swap is Civil War & you will need 5 Dear Jane gifts.
Fay is still taking expressions of interest in the first workshop for 2019 which will be held in January or February. The "Quick Method Double Wedding Ring" workshop will be a two day workshop, priced at $85 which will include all the interfacing you need to complete the quilt.
We've had some really wonderful Show and Tell at our last couple of WOW gatherings, with a few UFO's, some quilts we've seen a couple of times getting closer to completion, and some very interesting quilts just getting started.
We really look forward to seeing more Show and Tell over the coming months. In the meantime, keep on sewing.
