Merry Christmas from in2quilting

On Monday I met with Fay to discuss a few admin details, talk about what we should put in this blog, plan a date for the charity day and talk about what's planned for 2018 for in2quilting.... suffice to say it was a long meeting.

2017 has been an eventful year for both in2quilting and Fay. The WOW group is growing at a wonderful rate with a lot of returnees, new faces and friends of regulars coming along. Fay is elated as to how the group is growing and how we are maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. She loves the fact that everyone is sharing, caring, encouraging and genuinely interested in everyone's work from the novice through to the more advanced quilter.

This year we had so many wonderful workshops, it's fantastic to see the quilts being finished and the reactions to these wonderful quilts from both those that attended the workshops and those that perhaps wished they'd taken part.

We also had a wonderful retreat at Harrietville this year, with plenty of laughs, walks among the autumn colours, regular afternoon teas at the Swiss Bakery and we even managed to get some sewing done. The retreat has proven so popular that the 2018 Retreat has a waiting list. Fay will be notifying those attending the 2018 Retreat in January where they are at with payments. Those who have not yet done so will have to pay your deposit by the end of January to secure your place.

We finished off the year with another wonderful Christmas lunch. Once again the ladies put on a wonderful spread of food and we had a lot of fun with Dear Jane. All the ladies are so very generous and very inventive with their gifts. We also had some wonderful show and tell to finish off the day. Thank you ladies for a wonderful year at Wandong.

Workshops for next year have not yet been locked in. However, Fay did ask me to let you know that she will be running a series of "Popup" workshops from home teaching painting and printing on fabric. You will be notified about these workshops via "Workshop alerts" announced here on the website, via facebook and via emails. Advertising will be short notice and you will be required to book your place. You will not be required to bring anything as everything will be provided in the price. These workshops may run midweek or on weekends.

There may also be a popup mini workshop from time to time at Wandong.

As you may know 2017 was a very busy year for Fay both personally and with in2quilting. With babies, weddings and doing so very well with here bowling - congratulations Fay on your success in the Regionals and good luck for the rest of the season.

The start of 2018 is looking very busy already for Fay - another wedding and a family honeymoon, and that's only the start of the year! We discussed when would be the best day for the in2quilting Charity Day, looking at Fay's schedule and the need to hold it during Daylight Savings, we have earmarked the 11th of November. So save the date in your diaries - more details to follow shortly.
