Sorry it's been a while

Sorry it's been a while since we've updated you with the goings on at In2quilting. Between the bitter cold, the workshops, medical appointments, construction day, babies being born and computers crashing it's been hard to find the time to log in and type up an update.

So here goes, there is so much to fill you in on.....

Construction Day

Construction day was held on Wednesday the 5th of July. We had 4 ladies attend and between us we made 8 block rolls for the the Charity Day table. So despite being a small group we were very productive and very happy with our achievements. Thank you ladies for being so generous with your time.

The Hunter's Star Workshop

This workshop came about because while Robyn was working on her UFO's many of the ladies showed a great deal of interest in the one named Hunter's Star. Robyn did this workshop many years ago with Fay, so naturally we all said "Fay, can you run this as a workshop for us???"

Fay dug up her original Hunter's Star quilt, threw together an alternate block size quilt, the workshop was then scheduled with 25 ladies applying to attend.

The workshop was held on Sunday the 9th of July. With 20 ladies in attendance it was a great turnout. Once we all grasped the concept we produced a great variety of blocks as everyone's fabric choices differed. This quilt lends itself to being either feminine or masculine. Many of the ladies became quickly addicted to the technique, so much so Fay has designed a new quilt to be offered as a workshop later in the year.

Meanwhile... Fay is on tenterhooks waiting for her grandchild to make his appearance. At the time of the workshop going ahead he was now officially overdue.

WOW Gathering

On the 14th of July we had our WOW gathering. Once again it was a great turnout and we had some wonderful show and tell. It was great to see that everyone who had attended the workshop had grasped the idea of the block and had all finished their first block. Still no baby.

Xavier Arrives

On the 23rd of July Xavier Turner Winther made his appearance. Fay felt very honoured to be asked to attend the birth and is overjoyed with the latest addition to her family.

Mum, Dad, Baby and Grandparents are all well.

Next WOW Sit and sew

The next WOW gathering is on Friday the 11th of August.

Fay will be running a Hunter's Star workshop for those who missed out due to being in exotic locations at the time of the original workshop. This will also be an opportunity for anyone else who may feel that they are ready to dip their toe into the world of paper foundation piecing or who have fallen in love with the pattern. If you would like to join the workshop the cost is $50 - you will need to contact Fay asap to register and receive a copy of the requirements list.

Chasing the Sun

Both Fay and I will be chasing the sun in the coming weeks. My husband and I will be heading off to Greece for two weeks, and Fay will be heading up to Sunny Queensland with her husband for two weeks, so from the 13th of August until the start of September it may be a little quiet on the news front from both of us and Fay's shop will be closed.

BOM & Strip pieced Hexagons

Fay will be dedicating her return in September to sorting out the upcoming BOM. She hopes to make this available n October. She will also be working on the class samples for the upcoming Strip pieced Hexagon workshop which is being held in October. For more details on this workshop or to register click on this link.

With a weekend forecast of Sewing with no chance of housework or cooking I wish you all Happy Sewing.....
