Jan, Feb, Mar....WOW it's Christmas

This year has flown by, we blinked and yep it's Christmas already. I started setting up my tree - yep we do it early in our house, and suddenly I thought oh dear I need to write our December Blog.

WOW what a year we've had this year....

We haven't had as many workshops as we usually have but those we have had have been very popular and kept Fay travelling.

Once again we had a wonderful retreat at Harrietville, filled with plenty of laughs, wonderful inspiration, great company and plenty of work accomplished. We even got to see some snow this year - even if it was on top of the mountain.

In August we made a donation to Dementia Australia. We presented a cheque valued at $2000. This money was raised through the raffles we hold every month at our WOW gatherings.

Our Grunge club ladies continued to grow their stash which is looking very healthy. It's also great to see more and more quilts shown in Show and Tell using Grunge as either a feature or a fabulous blender or background fabric.

To wrap this year up we will be having our Christmas lunch this coming Friday the 6th in Wandong. We are looking forward to a fun filled day, with lots of good food and some Dear Jane fun.

Next year Fay has a big year planned with a couple of great workshops in the pipeline, starting with the Circle Cheats quilt. This is a great quilt for those that like quick results.

It will be perfect for that stash of Grunge many of you have at home.

There are other workshops planned for your Grunges, along with other workshops such as the possibility of a twist on the Double Wedding Ring, and maybe even a quilt you can make with a collection of t-shirts - so don't throw away those old favourite t-shirts. This'll be great for that teenager in your life. Fay is also planning some scrap quilt workshops, so instead of donating those scraps you have lying around hold onto them for now.

Use small tubs such as these to sort and save your scraps.

We are all also very excited about Helen Godden delivering a couple of workshops for in2quilters in July. This will be straight after the July Vic Quilters show. These workshops may be in the form of a 1 day workshop and a 2 day workshop. Fay will have these confirmed shortly.

Fay has started taking expressions of interest in these workshops. Costs will be confirmed in the new year.

Harrietville is still full, however, we expect vacancies to open up in the new year, if you are interested in attending please notify Fay asap.

We are very close to reaching our donation limit for our current charity, we hope to be able to present them with their cheque in the new year. On this note - we still have PLENTY of boxes and cupboards FULL to overflowing of fabrics, books, wadding and more, you are all so very generous, but please no more donations for now. In the new year I will provide you with a list of places you can donate these items.

We very much hope to see many of you on Friday the 6th of December in Wandong for our Christmas lunch - if we don't we hope you have a Very Merry and Safe Festive Season.
